Today  I’m sharing with you a simple, easy, and spicy Chicken Karahi recipe prepared with basic spices, just like in restaurants. Let’s begin this amazing recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1250 grams of chicken (washed and water drained)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • Salt (a little more than 1 tsp, pink salt used)
  • 5 medium tomatoes (approx. 500 grams, halved lengthwise)
  • 1 cup white curd (thick)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed black pepper
  • 1 cup water (if the curd is thick)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust based on spice level)
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • Garam masala (to taste)
  • Green chillies (optional)
  • Fresh coriander (for garnish)

Preparation Steps:

  • Take the washed chicken and add 1/4 cup of water. Add garlic and ginger paste. Also add pink salt (a little more than 1 tsp). Mix it all lightly. This is a quick and easy Chicken Karahi recipe! Add 5 halved tomatoes (500 grams). Cook for 5–7 minutes until their skin softens.
 Prepare a curd mixture:
    • 1 cup thick curd
    • 1 tsp crushed coriander powder
    • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
    • Add water only if the curd is thick. Mix well and set aside. Remove the tomato peels when softened. Stir and cook until the gravy thickens. Add cooking oil. Stir until the water dries and the oil separates.
    • Add 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust based on the spice level of the chili).
    • Keep stirring until the masala sticks well to the chicken pieces.
    • These little things enhance the flavor greatly!
    • Add the curd mixture. Rinse the jug with water to get all the mix in. Mix well and cook until the chicken is tender and the masala is well-cooked. Add garam masala, green chillies, and coriander.
    • Mix and turn off the heat. Your Chicken Karahi is ready!
